Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu Primrose Hill Murderer: Man Charged in Stabbing Death of Film Student Finbar Sullivan

A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old film student Finbar Sullivan at Primrose Hill in north London.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, of Southbury Road in Enfield, was arrested on Friday, April 10, and formally charged with murder on Sunday, April 12.

He is scheduled to appear before Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 13.

Fatal stabbing in popular park

Police say the incident occurred on the evening of April 7, when officers were called to Primrose Hill at approximately 6:41 p.m. following reports of a stabbing. At the time, families and visitors were enjoying the warm post-Easter weather in the park, a well-known beauty spot.

Investigators believe a fight broke out, during which Finbar Sullivan suffered multiple stab wounds. Despite emergency response efforts, he died from his injuries.

A second man in his 20s, believed to be a friend of Sullivan, was also found nearby with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Victim remembered

Finbar Sullivan, a student at the London Screen Academy, was described as a passionate and aspiring filmmaker. He was the grandson of renowned cinematographer Michael Seresin and the son of artist and musician Chris Sullivan.

According to reports, Finbar had left his home in Maida Vale just hours before the incident, carrying new camera equipment and telling his father he would return later that evening.

Friends and family say he had already begun building a name for himself, producing drill rap videos and pursuing a career in film.

Investigation and prior arrest

A second individual, aged 25, who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has since been released with no further action.

Authorities have also confirmed that Ogunyankinnu had previously been jailed in 2020 for drug-related offenses involving cocaine and heroin.

Appeal for information

Police are continuing their investigation and are urging witnesses or anyone with information or footage related to the incident to come forward. Authorities request members of the public to contact them, quoting reference 6448/07Apr.

The tragic killing has shook the local community, as well as the creative circles connected to Sullivan’s family and work.
