Breaking News: Chaos Erupts Near Park City Mall Amid High-Speed Chase and Reported Shooting

LANCASTER, PA — A chaotic and alarming scene unfolded Saturday evening near Park City Center, as a high-speed police chase, reports of gunfire, and a large crowd stampede left multiple people injured and authorities scrambling to secure the area.

According to initial reports from witnesses, a police pursuit ended near the mall complex, with numerous law enforcement vehicles converging on the scene alongside a tow truck. The situation quickly escalated as panic spread through a nearby fair event, referred to by attendees as the “Park City Fair.”

Witnesses described hearing gunshots in the vicinity of a bridge near the shopping center, close to a local Ollie’s Bargain Outlet location. The sound of gunfire reportedly triggered widespread fear, prompting hundreds of people to flee simultaneously.

As the crowd rushed to escape, a stampede occurred, resulting in multiple injuries. Several individuals were reportedly trampled in the chaos, while others suffered injuries from falls or collisions.

Unconfirmed accounts from the scene also indicate that fights broke out during the confusion, and at least one child may have been struck by a vehicle amid the panic. Additionally, some individuals were reportedly sprayed with an unknown substance, though authorities have not yet clarified the nature of the incident.

Family members of attendees took to social media expressing concern, though some confirmed their loved ones were safe despite being present during the ordeal.

Emergency responders, including police, EMS, and fire crews, flooded the area to assist victims and restore order. Authorities have not yet released official details regarding the number of injured or confirmed whether a shooting definitively took place, but the heavy response suggests a serious and evolving situation.

Residents are urged to avoid the area around Park City Center as the investigation continues. Law enforcement is expected to provide further updates as more information becomes available.

This remains a developing story.

  1. I was there. This “unknown substance” was most likely the mace the police officers were threatening with. One officer yelled “You have 5 seconds before you get sprayed” (speaking to crowd not directly one person) but they counted down and people ran over each other it was a huge stampede.
