A devastating crash involving multiple vehicles and fires has forced the closure of all lanes of Interstate 71 near U.S. 36/SR 37 in Delaware County on Saturday evening.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the scene just before 6:30 p.m. following reports of a serious injury crash. Upon arrival, emergency crews encountered a chaotic and dangerous situation involving several vehicles, including an 18-wheeler.

Authorities confirmed that both northbound and southbound lanes of I-71 were shut down before and after the U.S. 36 and State Route 37 exits as first responders worked to contain the scene.
